Eduardo Bort - The new album, 'Bort'.
So, what is the progress of the new album from Eduardo Bort?
Eduardo has been working very hard these last couple of years, not only as a musician but as an executive as well, trying to get the show moving. All the estimates for studio time, musicians, transport, equipment and many more things have been handed in analysed and passed around. Other interested and business related executives are also interested in investing time and money in the project.
Recently Eduardo rang me from Madrid, telling me to tune-in to RNE Radio 3 that afternoon, he was to be interviewed and to play some tunes live with his acoustic guitar in an hour long show. I did and was impressed by the sound and playing. Interestingly, the show was recorded. I'm hoping to put cuts of this programme on-line soon.
This month I have seen Eduardo a couple of times, travelling to Denia, where he lives. I have also had the pleasure of sitting and playing guitar with him, and believe me, it is a pleasure to play with Eduardo Bort.
It seems that invitations have been passed and accepted to both Raimundo Amador and to Paco de Lucía to appear on his new album. The album's title will possibly be 'Bort'. Many well known Spanish musicians will be passing by the studios to greet Eduardo when recording begins.
A tour will, of course, follow the release of the album.
Eduardo is intending to start final rehearsals in September this year. I am hoping to be present at the rehearsals and of course at the recordings, if possible.
